Holy Week and Easter Services 

Please make note of Holy Week and Easter Services at St John’s:

Maundy Thursday 18thApril – Mass of the Last Supper with Washing of Feet, 7pm

Good Friday 19thApril – Celebration of the Passion of the Lord, 3pm; Quiet Hour with the Cross, 6.30pm

Stations of the Cross – see below

Holy Saturday 20thApril – Vigil Mass for all three parishes at St Mary’s, 7pm

Easter Sunday 21stApril – Morning Masses as usual 

Stations of the Cross – Good Friday 

An invitation from Fr David to an event suitable for children: ‘On Good Friday at 10am there will be family Stations of the Cross at Christ the King Church. If any children would like a role in the Stations can they please arrive by 9.45am.’ 

Road closure

Briercliffe Road will be completely closed to traffic from 23rdApril – 3rdMay, from Queen Victoria Road to the hospital.  

Please allow extra time for your journey to school during this time as we envisage that surrounding routes will be busier.

Class 3 Assembly

Family and friends of children in Class 3 are invited to school on Friday 26thApril as they present their class assembly at 10am.  

Please join us if you can and stay for a cup of tea afterwards.

Thank you very much for all the chocolate items donated on the last day of term for our Choco Lotto.  

Thank you also for all the St Joseph Penny boxes returned so far.

Year 3 Mass at Blessed Trinity

Our Year 3 pupils will join children from other schools in Burnley to celebrate Mass at Blessed Trinity on Tuesday 23rdApril.  

They will return to school in time for lunch as usual.

Breakfast Club

Letters will go out after Easter inviting you to apply for a place at Breakfast Club from Sept 2019.  

Please look out for the letter if you are interested in applying as places are limited.  

Headteacher Card Winners

Congratulations to these children who had the most Headteacher Cards in their class this term:   

Euan Wallace, Emelia Halliwell, Jamelia Perocho, Keizo Olivas, Katie Marlborough, Macey Wylie, Erin Lampitco, Ayaan Khan and Maddison McGibbon.  

They enjoyed a MacDonalds lunch as their prize.

Well done to everyone who achieved full attendance for the Spring Term.  Congratulations to Kamilis Stonkus, Emelia Halliwell and Ruby Kay whose names were drawn from the hat and won a prize.

Bank Holiday closure

School closes today, re-opening on Tues 23rdApril.  We hope you have an enjoyable and restful Easter.
