Celebrating Lent at St John’s

Father David and his team will be in school next week to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation with KS2 pupils as part of our Lenten journey.  Please do discuss this at home with your children.  

Thank you again for returning filled St Joseph Penny boxes – don’t worry if they are falling apart! 


Theme Work Celebration

Please join us in school next Tuesday (26thMarch 2.30-3.15pm) for our end of term Art Exhibition.  

Work from every child in school will be on display in the Hall, showing what they have been learning this half-term.  Please do call in if you can.


Easter Holidays

Please be reminded of this year’s holiday pattern:
Friday 29thMarch – school closes at 1.30pm
Monday 15thApril – school reopens 
Thursday 18thApril – school closes at 3pm
Tuesday 23rdApril – school reopens


Easter Fayre

This year our Easter Fayre will be in the school hall on Wednesday 17thApril 3-4.30pm.  Please join us for Easter fun and games.  Stalls will sell sweet treats and refreshments including hot chocolate.


Data Collection sheets

If you haven’t returned your child’s data collection sheet, you will receive a reminder today.  It is vital that we have these fully completed so please return as soon as possible.  Thank you.  


Mobile Phones

Please be reminded that mobile phones are not allowed in school.


Red Nose Day

Thank you for kindly supporting our Red Nose Day Bake Sale, we raised almost £80.00!!


Year 3 Mass at Blessed Trinity

Our Year 3 pupils will join children from other schools in Burnley to celebrate Mass at Blessed Trinity on Tuesday 23rdApril – see separate letter to follow.


School Footwear

If you are buying new footwear for your child, please remember that only plain black shoes are allowed.  

Please do not buy boot-style shoes or black trainers.  


Leave during Term Time

Please be reminded that, in line with our Attendance Policy, leave during term time can only be authorised in exceptional circumstances.
