School faith-life

Classes 2 and 5 will lead Collective Worship for us next week.  It is October and their focus will be the Joyful Mysteries.


October – Month of the Holy Rosary

Rosary Club will be running each Tuesday playtime throughout October.  Children can join us at the Sacred Space for some quiet time to pray.


Sports Report

Last Tuesday, we took 13 pupils to Towneley Park for the Yr5/6 Cross Country event.  It was a challenging course but all of our children completed it.

Class Trips

Next week Classes 2 and 3 are out on class trips.  Class 2 are visiting Towneley Hall and Park on Thursday 11th October, linked to their Science theme of ‘Animals including Humans’.  Class 3 are visiting the Museum of Science and Industry, Mancester linked to their Themework topic of ‘Rockets’.

Toothbrushes

Next Friday, all children in KS1 will bring home a toothbrush and toothpaste.  These are free of charge through the Lancashire Healthy Schools initiative to promote healthy bodies.


Yr 6 weights and measures

Members of the School Nursing Team will be in school on Monday 8thOctober to weigh and measure our pupils.  A separate letter went home about this last Friday (28th).

Applications for primary and secondary places 2019 are now open, visit www.lancashire.gov.uk/schools Please contact Mrs Mayor if you would like any support in applying.

Secondary – 31st October 2018

Primary – 15th January 2019


PTFA Fancy Dress Disco

Tickets will be on sale next week for our Fancy Dress Disco – £2.50 each including a drink, sweets and crisps.

Thursday 18th October 2018 | 5.30pm-7pm.

We have a limited number so it’s first come, first served.

Thank you very much to our PTFA for organising.


Breakfast Club – changes AFTER half-term

Places for Breakfast Club after half-term have now been allocated.   Children not attending Breakfast Club can be dropped off at school from 8.30am, but no earlier as the gate will be locked until then.


Class 9 Assembly

Family and friends of children in Class 9 are invited to join us in school on Friday 12thOctober when they will present their assembly.  Please join us  10-10.30am.
