WELCOME BACK

It is lovely to see everyone again after the summer break and to welcome all our new friends in Class 1.  Hopefully, everyone is refreshed and ready for the new academic year.  We have a busy term ahead – please see the dates on the calendar  Please note that these may be subject to change, we will give you as much notice as possible if any changes have to be made.


COLLECTIVE WORSHIP

This term we are studying influential female saints.  Class 9 and Class 2 will lead us as we explore the life of St Hilda.


SCHOOL ADMISSIONS 18-17

The Lancashire online admissions system for Reception and Year 7 places for September 2018 went live on 4th Sept at www.lancashire.gov.uk/schools. Please make sure that you log in and complete your applications before: 31st October 2017 for secondary places and 15th January 2018 for primary places. The application process takes place online; if you need any help, please call at the office.


PHONICS FOR PARENTS ( CLASSES 1, 2 AND 3)

Please join us on Tuesday 19th Sep at 3.15pm for a parents’ phonics workshop where your child’s teacher will share information, ideas and games which will help your child develop as a reader.


PARKING

We will continue to put cones outside the main gates in effort to reduce traffic congestion.  Please note that Blue badge holders only are allowed to park on yellow lines, but not on zig-zag lines.


LEGO DONATIONS

If you have any unwanted Lego at home please will you consider donating it to our Beehive Nurture Group.


DINNER MONEY

Please note that from September, our office will only be able to accept payment for school dinners on Mondays.  Please make arrangements for dinner money to be paid promptly each Monday for the coming week.  The cost of school dinners will remain at £2.10 per day for the school year 2017-18.


APPOINTMENTS DURING SCHOOL TIME

If you wish to collect your child early from school in order to attend an appointment, please inform the office in advance – at least the day before the appointment and where possible, bring the appointment card.


CALLING ALL PARENTS!

Please consider joining either our PTFA (Parents, Teachers and Friends Association) or our Parents’ Council.  We would be extremely grateful to any of you who join us.  Each group meets once a term for about 45 minutes.  Next meetings: PTFA – Mon 25th Sept 3.15pm, Parents’ Council – Tues 10th Oct 6pm.

Please may we remind you that mobile phones are not allowed in school.  Please contact me if you wish to discuss this.
