School faith-life

Next week, Classes 3 and 7 will lead Collective Worship for us.

To link to Friendship and Kindness Week, they will focus on respect.

Class 6 Assembly

Family and friends of children in Class 6 are invited to join us in school on Friday 16th November 10-10.30am.

Home- Start

Home-Start provide support and friendship for families in Burnley, Rossendale and Hyndburn.

They offer a free and confidential service, which provides non-judgemental practical and emotional help for parents and families. If you would like more information about the support they can offer, or for an informal chat contact:

Friendship and Kindness Week

Next week is national Anti-Bullying Week.  At St John’s, we call it Friendship and Kindness Week.

Throughout the week children will take part in workshops and lessons promoting this year’s theme ‘Choose Respect’.  We welcome visitors from charities ‘Every Action Has Consequences’ and ‘Nest Lancashire’ who will promote the Choose Respect theme.

Please ask your children about the messages from the sessions.

Sports Report

Next week some of our Yr5 & 6 pupils will visit Spirit of Sport to take part in indoor athletics and some of our girls will represent us at BFC, Under 11s.

School opening times

The gates to our yard are locked until 8.30am, please do not bring/send children to school before 8.30 as we are not open until then.

Vision screening (Reception)

Vision screening for all pupils in Reception will take place in school on Thursday 15th November.

Please ask if you would like more information.

Nasal flu immunisation

Staff from IntraHealth will be in school on Tuesday 13th November to administer nasal flu vaccinations to pupils in Yr1 – 5 if parents have given consent.
