Listening to your child read at home

Please support your child’s progress in reading by listening to them read regulary at home.  Please also make sure that you complete their Reading Record and return to school each week.  


Goodbye Father Lawrence

We say goodbye today to Father Lawrence as he moves to his new parish.  We thank him for his loving support this past year and wish him well and all the best for the future, we will miss him!


School Nurse drop-in 9 – 10.30

Please be reminded that our school nurse will be in school next Thursday between 9am-10.30am.  Please call in, no appointments necessary, if there is something you would like to discuss.


Class 6 Assembly

Family and friends of children in Class 6 are invited to school on Friday 15thNovember when they present their class assembly.  Please join us at 10am.


Funky Fingers

Our new after school activity club for KS1 children, Funky Fingers, begins next week.  Activities will include painting, threading, construction, cutting and sticking and are aimed at improving fine motor skills.  Please see separate letter home for details.  Thank you Miss Dunderdale for organising this.


Friendship and Kindness Week

The theme of this year’s national Anti-bullying Week is ‘Change Starts with Us’.  We shall be using this as our theme during Friendship and Kindness Week next week.  Everyone is invited to come to school in odd socks on Tuesday 12th November and all will take part in a mass dance on Friday.


Raising aspirations

Next week we welcome a make-up artist to school.  She will speak to Junior pupils about her career and work with Class 4.  Her visit forms part of our programme of events, aiming to raise aspirations and encourage all to think about future careers. 


Year 6 enrichment activities

On Monday, Yr 6 are visiting the cinema as part of the national Cinema Festival Week.  They are also spending the day on Thursday at BTRCC taking part in a Science Day – see separate letter for more details.  We hope they enjoy themselves.


PTFA Meeting

Please join us in school on Monday 11th November at 3.15pm for our next meeting.  We will be making plans for our Christmas Fayre which this year is in school on 10th December. 


Poppy Appeal

Poppies continue to be available in school in exchange for a silver coin.  Year 6 pupils will be selling them on the yard under the pagoda at morning break-time.
