Dear Parents and Carers,
Class 6 trips – Queens St Mill Textile Museum and Clitheroe Castle Museum
We have planned two exciting class trips for Class 6 this term.
On Wednesday 20th October, we will be visiting Queen St Mill. This visit will include a short tour of the museum, an opportunity to see the Textile Biennial art work on display and take part in an artist-led workshop. On the day, children will have the opportunity to order a cold sandwich option from the school kitchen or bring their own packed lunch. We will have lunch when we return to school around 1pm.
On Thursday 21st October, we will be visiting Clitheroe Castle. This visits links to our current History topic ‘The Viking and Anglo-Saxon struggle for the kingdom of England’. Whilst there we will be taking part in a workshop about 1066 and the last of the Anglo-Saxon kings.
The kitchen will provide a packed lunch only to pupils who receive free school meals on Thursday 21st October. If your child does not receive free school meals, please provide a packed lunch for them on the day (disposable items in a carrier bag are best). No glass bottles, cans or fizzy drinks.
On both days, children need to be at school for 8.45am and be picked up at 3pm.
School fund is subsidising the trips, so the voluntary contribution we are asking you to pay is £11.00.
Please make payment and consent to your child attending the trip on Parentpay as soon as possible. All payments to be made by 18th October.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs. S Price
