Holidays 21-22

Our holiday list for next year (September 2021-July 2022) has been approved by our Governors.  It is being sent to you via email this week.


Advent

The first candle on the Advent Wreath represents Hope; it is sometimes called the Prophet’s Candle.  We are celebrating the start of Advent this week.


Covid-19 Risk Assessment

Thank you very much to everyone who is wearing a face covering on the paths and when coming into school.  Please can you make sure that you stay 2 metres apart from one another.  Thank you.


Digimaps for Geographay

This year, we have subscribed to an online geography resource; ‘Digimaps for Schools’.  Pupils are being encouraged to access this resource at home; we hope you have time to look at it with them. Please contact us for login details.


PSHE Education session

Year 5 will take part in an online session from the Lancashire Violence Reduction Network next week.  They will work on resilience, emotions and making good choices.  These sessions are provided by Uclan (University of Central Lancashire) and form part of our enhanced PSHE Ed provision.


Anti-Bullying Week

Congratulations to the winners of our Anti-Bullying Week competitions: Class 1 – Lacie; Class 2 – Lyla; Class 3 – Ebony; Class 4 – Sophie; Class 5 – Aston; Class 6 – Leona; Class 7 – Mya; Class 8 – Macey.

Reading Challenge

We’re delighted to announce that even more children have achieved their Bronze Award for reading and reviewing 15 books: Emelia Halliwell, Isa Akram, Amelia Mansworth and Holly Burton.

Bikeability

Children in Year 4 take part in Bikeability cycling lessons next week.  This is provided via our subscription to the Burnley Sports Partnership.


Phonics Screening Check

Children in Year 1 (Class 2) will complete the Phonics Screening Check in school next week.  


Dogs Trust

On Tuesday Yr 6 take part in an online session from the Dogs Trust on keeping safe around dogs.
