School News | Friday 4th October 2019

Thank you to everyone who attended Mass at St Mary’s on Saturday to mark the formal coming together of our churches.  It was a lovely event and very well attended.

All children are currently taking part in a competition to design an image to be used on the reverse of a prayer card.  These will be produced for use in school and at church featuring ‘The Good Samaritan’ as the name of our newly amalgamated parish.

Diocese of Salford Building Fund

Thank you very much to everyone who has contributed to the Diocesan Building Fund so far.  We are very grateful for all contributions.

Attendance and Punctuality

Please can I remind everyone that in order to make a prompt start to each day, children need to be on the yard ready to line up when the bell goes at 8.45am.

If your child is not coming to school due to illness, please ring the office as soon as possible.

Open Day

Our Open Day is planned for Thursday 17th October this year.  School will be open to visitors from 1-4pm.

If you know anyone with a child who is due to start school next September, please ask them to call in.

School Improvement Priorities – Personal Development

As shared with you last week, in the area of Personal Development, we are aiming this year to provide a richer and wider range of experiences for pupils.

As well as inviting a range of visitors to school, we are also planning a number of after school enrichment activities.   This term, ‘Funky Fingers’ will begin for KS1 children and ‘Festive Foods’ for KS2.

More details will follow soon.
